                    GOALS: 

The students of Ascension School will: 

·                    Identify features of neighborhoods, differences, ways of life, different jobs, and community relationships

·                    Understand that the United States is part of the earth; the land and water distributions; geographic terms.

·                    Recognize the U. S., the term “American”, and the flag as an American symbol

·                    Identify the President, special Americans, and the concept of 50 states

·                    Hear about Special Americans

·                    Understand what makes a desert, plants and animals of the desert, and famous deserts of the world

CONTENT: 

·                    neighborhoods, maps, recognizing differences in neighborhoods, change, different jobs

·                    United States as part of Earth, land & water, continents and oceans

·                    Americans, American flag as a symbol, 50 states, special Americans

·                    deserts, characteristics, plants & animals

·                    location of certain deserts
