The students of Ascension School will: 

·                    Identify & use Social Studies words and terms and define words by context clues and glossary use

·                    Define regions by characteristics

·                    List natural resources, major land forms, and geographic perimeters

·                    Locate thirteen original colonies on map

·                    Recognize and study history of Pilgrims, early explorers and settlers

·                    Identify and explain Declaration of Independence, American Revolution, Civil War, and pioneer life

·                    Compare various types of maps

·                    Read a time zone map

·                    Relate U.S. regions with other parts of the world
