Sixth Grade Curriculum

Music 

                    GOALS: 

The students of Ascension School will: 

·                    Perform by singing and/or playing an instrument

·                    Identify names of sounds of basic classroom and orchestral instruments

·                    Sing Latin songs and understand them as part of Catholic tradition and heritage

·                    Recognize music as a means of communicating feelings through a study of patriotic music

·                    Demonstrate knowledge of musical concepts such as staff, meter, note, values…

·                    Interpret rhythms 4/4, 2/4, 2/2, 6/8 by clapping, hand jive, walking
