Seventh Grade Curriculum

Religion 

                    GOALS: 

The students of Ascension School will: 

·                    Demonstrate comprehension of Call to Christian Ministry

·                    Use and respect sacred scripture

·                    Begin to prepare for Confirmation

·                    Identify the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit

·                    Identify and recognize sacramentals

·                    Increase knowledge of all the sacraments, especially the sacraments of Initiation

·                    Realize how to imitate Christ from the lives of His disciples

·                    Begin to take responsibility in promoting God’s kingdom of justice, mercy and peace

·                    Celebrate the seasons of the Liturgical year and the feasts of Christ, Mary and the Saints

·                    Express love for God through spontaneous prayer

·                    Recall prayers 

CONTENT: 

·                    Jesus as Father, teacher and prophet

·                    Celebrating Advent, Lent, Christmas, Easter & holy days

·                    Old and New Testament

·                    Spontaneous and formal prayers

·                    Respect for all forms of life
