Ascension Catholic School Technology Plan
Infrastructure:
Computer Lab: The computer lab is equipped with 18 thin client terminals, two laser printers (one color, one black/white), one scanner, and a Promethean ActivBoard with LCD projector. To assure individualized attention, Ascension splits each homeroom in half. Each half will attend Computer class once per week. Smith Technology Room: The Smith Technology Room is equipped with 31 computers, one printer, an Elmo document reader, and a Promethean ActivBoard with LCD projector. This room may be scheduled by any teacher for classroom instruction or student projects.
Annex Room: The Annex Room is equipped with 1 computer, a Promethean ActivBoard with LCD projector, and a television and VCR/DVD player. This room may be scheduled by any teacher for classroom instruction.
Media Cart: The Media cart is equipped with one IBM Thinkpad and LCD projector. The media cart may be scheduled by any teacher for classroom instruction.
Classrooms: Each classroom is equipped with a minimum of one computer and printer with print/scan/copy functions. Five classrooms are equipped with Promethean ActivBoards with LCD projectors. The primary classrooms have multiple computers set up as a mini-lab for use with centers. Each classroom has a television and VCR/DVD player.
Library: The library is equipped with seven computers (four for search stations, one for circulation desk, two for administrative) and a laser printer. The library has a television and VCR/DVD player. The library is fully automated using the Follett Company library software. The on-line catalog is accessible from any computer on the school network. All library materials are bar-coded for automated circulation and inventory. |
